Operation Christmas Child 2010

Operation Christmas Child brings joy and hope to children in desperate situations around the world through gift-filled shoe boxes and the message of God’s unconditional love. Anyone can participate in this simple, hands-on project.

Two ways to contribute!

Find a Shoe BoxUse a sturdy shoe box or pick up a free, specially designed Operation Christmas Child box at C4, available mid-September.
Pack it with GiftsUse the guidelines provided by Samaritan's Purse to ensure the box is filled with a well-balanced variety of quality items that will bring joy to a child.
Enclose your DonationPlease donate $7 or more for each shoe box you prepare to help cover project costs, including shipping, and expand assistance to children and their communities.
Drop it off!The congregation at C4 is invited to bring their shoeboxes in on Shoebox Sunday, Nov. 21st. Community organizations, area churches and schools are invited to deliver their boxes to C4 during Collection Week, Nov. 15 - 21. This year, shoeboxes will be collected in the gymnasium.

Information Night

Our Kick-Off & Information Night on Mon. Sept. 13th is primarily for community representatives who have pre-ordered shoeboxes and promotional materials for the 2010 Shoebox Campaign, but any interested parties are welcome. The evening begins at 7:00 pm.

Arrival of Materials

Our materials will be arriving during the week of Sept. 6th and we will need a few strong volunteers to help unload the truck, between noon and 4 pm.

Collection of Shoeboxes

As a Regional Collection Centre, C4's Shoebox Collection Week is Nov. 15 - 21. Volunteers are needed to help receive the boxes, pack them into cartons for shipping, and load them onto the truck to go to the Processing Centre in Kitchener. Dates and times (yet to be determined.)

Final Inspection

Volunteers are needed on (date to be determined) to travel to the OCC Processing Centre in Waterloo where final inspection of the boxes takes place before they are sent overseas. Please sign up on Sundays in the church foyer beginning in Oct. if you'd like to participate. Bus transportation will be provided if we can fill one, or we will arrange carpooling.
